A lot of people don't believe that the Art Programs are very important, but truth is that they mean so much to a lot of students, yet schools are cutting the programs from their electives. Fortunately there are some schools that still have art class as an elective for students to do, unfortunately, they don't have a very big budget, so art supplies are limited and more than often, teachers pay out of pocket to buy the supplies their students need. Along with that, there are students that don't want to keep their artwork, so it just goes to waste. These are two problems I see constant, I've gone to Iron Mountain high school as well as Kingsford high school, and I've seen both of these issues in both schools. So I came up with the idea of holding an auction. Students can sell their artwork and the money can go to the art classes so they can buy the supplies they need. Not only that, but the students' artwork that is sold will get their names out there and if that student wishes to pursue a career in the art field, their name will already be well-known and give them a little bit of help to find a job. (Note that proceeds are going for getting art supplies for the art classes of IM/K)
